The Floria ingredient policy
If we can't write down why it's in there, it isn't.
This is the thinking that decides what goes into an Floria formula — and what doesn't. We publish it because we believe ingredient literacy belongs to you, not to the brand.
Six commitments.

01 — Plant-rooted, not plant-themed.
Every formula leads with botanical and plant-derived actives at concentrations that match the literature. Synthetic ingredients earn a place only if they out-perform a plant alternative for safety, stability, or pH.

02 — One-line reason for every ingredient.
Each product page lists every ingredient with a single sentence: why it's there, and what role it plays. If we can't write that sentence, it's not in the formula.

03 — Concentrations match the research.
When we cite a benefit, we cite the concentration the research used — and meet it. "Featured ingredient" at trace levels is marketing, not formulation. We don't do it.

04 — No fragrance. Not even hidden.
No added fragrance, no essential-oil fragrance dressed up as functional. Where botanical extracts contribute scent, we say so by name on the back.

05 — Cosmetic claims only.
We make cosmetic claims, not drug claims. You'll see "supports the skin's barrier," never "cures" or "treats." If you're under medical care, check with your provider before introducing any new product.

06 — The exclusion list is dated.
Cosmetic science moves. Our exclusion list reflects what we know today; we publish the version date so you can see when it last changed.

- Synthetic fragrance & "parfum"
- Essential-oil-based fragrance (where the EO is purely scent, not functional)
- Methylisothiazolinone (MIT) & methylchloroisothiazolinone (CMIT)
- Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives (DMDM hydantoin, quaternium-15, imidazolidinyl urea)
- SD alcohol / denatured alcohol as the first ten ingredients
- Mineral oil & petrolatum (we accept them in lip products only; flagged on those pages explicitly)
- PEGs above PEG-40 in leave-on products
- Sulfates (SLS, SLES) in any face product
On AI-generated content.
Some of the imagery and short-form video on our social channels is AI-generated. We disclose this on every relevant post per FTC guidance. The formulas, ingredient sourcing, and product photography on this site are not AI-generated.
